LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - To cover UK Nationwide

JOB TITLE: Land Development Director

SALARY & BENEFITS: circa GBP70,000 to GBP80,000 plus excellent benefits including GBP8,000 car allowance, 25 days holiday and pension

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - core hours daytime Monday to Friday but will require travel and overnight stays (full expenses covered)

THE COMPANY / ROLE: Our client was founded in early 2017 with the directive of moving the housing market away from traditional build to more offsite construction. With the ever growing need for fast, affordable, quality housing our client are uniquely placed to provide modular housing to the UK and overseas and due to their continued expansion are now looking for an experienced and highly motivated Land Development Director with a strong residential land development background, and a track record of buying large and small residential sites.

THE ROLE: Our client are looking for an inspired individual who is energised by the challenge of finding potential sites for high quality, modular homes. This role will ideally suit a rounded land manager who is experienced at purchasing residential land, understands how to navigate the planning process and who can role-model great communication in this exciting and dynamic business.

This is a fledging business where the ability to work at pace to build trusted relationships and deliver quality and value is essential and would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate, energised and not afraid to implement and come up with new ideas Working autonomously with very little time spent in the office and travelling away for which you will be reimbursed, you'll need to ensure that collaboration with the team is a key priority.

Key Responsibilities for the Land Development Director role in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and UK wide include :-

- Develop and manage a credible nationwide pipeline of building plots primed for modular housing developments
- Develop trusted relationships with landowners
- Collaborate with sales, design and technical colleagues
- Use existing knowledge of financial modelling to assess feasibility and potential funding options
- Lead the land acquisition and planning process
- Drive potential sites through the various planning stages
- Represent the Company at external stakeholder meetings
- Liaise with architects and designers
- Project manage sites through to completion

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Land Development Directors role must have previous experience in residential land procurement/development and a record of buying large/small residential sites and working on new build projects through to completion. You will have excellent negotiating skills and have experience working with and liaising with local authorities and councils in regards to new residential developments and be familiar with relevant legislative knowledge.

Candidates will need to be highly motivated and energised and be confident to take ownership of this role, create new ideas and be an instrumental part in growing the business. The role is UK wide based and will require travel and occasional nights away for which full expenses are covered, but candidates will need to be able to commute as needed to the Company's central production facility based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and must have a valid UK Driving Licence.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Land Development Directors role :-

- A strong residential land background with a track record of buying large and small residential sites and taking through planning to completion
- An authentic and natural communicator
- Strong stakeholder management
- Detailed feasibility analysis skills
- A creative and solution-oriented problem solver
- Valid UK driving Licence and ability to travel throughout UK
- Must be prepared for occasional overnight stays and also be able to commute to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire as needed
