This leading manufacturer of construction products is going through some steady growth and now keen to secure some good succession planning for this site. Our client contacts are both long term employees and are committed to the company - this could be a job for life, and progression opportunities are also possible. This is primarily a 5-day week role, normal hours are 8am to 5pm with an hour for lunch.
We have been commissioned to seek an experienced Production Manager for one of the largest manufacturers of this particular timber construction product for their facility in Newport, South Wales. This is a challenging role, in which you will need to ensure efficient staff management (around 25) reporting directly to the Operations Manager for this particular site, and to maintain an efficient output in order to maintain the company's place in a highly competitive market.
You will need to demonstrate a strong track record of the following:
* Strong and effective people management skills - you need to combine excellent people skills with strong management abilities
* Ability to work well under pressure, with demanding targets and deadlines
* Experience in manufacturing with timber, ideally you will have worked your way up to Production Manager from the shop floor, or are a Production Supervisor looking for the next step in your career
* Excellent working knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S etc
* Commitment to Health and Safety
* Quality Assurance/Quality Control
