A large healthcare organisation is currently seeking a very capable individual for a period of 3 months who holds experience of Out of Hours and Urgent Care Services.

Main Responsibilities:

- Responsibility for the delivery of urgent care services, and the ongoing development of partnerships to positively contribute to local health and care partnerships;
- Ensure that urgent care is delivered efficiently, clinically safe and to a high quality;
- Responsibility for operational management of clinical and non-clinical staffing, if required development of contracts, ensuring that quality standards and targets are met;
- Explore and identify opportunities for performance improvement, provision of clinical services including the formulation of performance improvement plans in conjunction with clinical and operational colleagues;
- Work with Senior Management Team to provide a range of high quality clinical services for the service;
- Extensive liaison with external bodies including providers, CCGs, CQC, and other health and social care organisations;
- Lead work stream activity and project manage the delivery of services against plan and to cost;
- Identify external opportunities to expand current services, supporting bid development and contract negotiation and integration as required;
- Manage and control full budget contracts to ensure service is provided in a safe and cost effective way;
- Ensure there is effective investigation of all breaches in performance, determining any trends and potential problem areas, recommending action to the Director of Operations;

A successful candidate will have:

- Ideally hold a management qualification or degree and significant management experience in a healthcare environment or experience equal to this;
- Clinical Professional Qualification relevant to the role;
- Experience of performance management including all aspects of effective people-management;
- Healthcare based experience across Urgent care/Primary care or Emergency Medicine;
- Proven track record of delivery and understanding of the healthcare environment;
- Understanding of the future of integrated urgent care models across the NHS.
