Tax assistant in practice

This is a very successful and well established accountancy practice in the town centre. The location is ideal for shops, banks, cafes etc but you will have to park in the local car park. Public transport links to Hertford are good by both bus and train though and you will very rarely be leaving the office to see clients anyway. The firm is a great place to work at.

The firm is looking for an experienced Tax Assistant to join us on a permanent basis and this role will focus on providing a range of Personal Tax services and Corporation Tax Compliance work to a varied client portfolio. Ideally we are looking for at least 1-2 years experience in a tax role within public practice but candidates with general practice experience who are keen to pursue a role in tax will also be considered.

The duties of this role will see you reporting to the Tax Manager and also a partner, doing:

Working with a wide range of personal & corporate clients - sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

Preparing both personal and corporate tax returns

Providing sound advice & guidance to clients regarding a variety of Tax matters

Prepare, organise, and handle various Tax documents, reports, and statements

Ensure full Tax compliance and legislation is adhered to at all times

Assisting with PAYE matters as required

Liaising closely with the accounts team to ensure all work is completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
