Chief Press Officer
Location: Central London
Length: 3 months, with a high possibility of extension
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

A Central Government organisation is currently seeking an experienced Chief Press Officer to manage a small team of senior and junior Press officers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the delivery of media and press announcements
• Developing and delivering communications strategies
• Liaising with the press on behalf of the department
• Advising Ministers and Policy Officials on communication with the press
• Building relationships with stakeholder organisations
• Providing leadership and guidance to colleagues within the team, taking an active part in learning and development
• Working as a member of the senior management team and taking part in an out of hours duty rota

Essential experience required:

• Strong media and press office experience
• Working knowledge of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement within public affairs
• Communications management experience
• Central Government experience is desirable
