Mechanical Assembler - Permanent/full-time - Up to GBP10.25 per hour
Are you experienced in mechanical assembly work?
Are you a competent user of air tools and rivet guns?
Can you work permanently in the Southend, Essex, area?
An established and successful design and manufacturing business in the Southend-On-Sea area of Essex, has a new permanent job opportunity for a Manufacturing Operative with proven mechanical assembly skills and experience.
What does the opportunity offer?
* Competitive hourly rate up to GBP10.25 per hour
* Generous 32 days paid holidays (24 days, plus Bank Holidays)
* Excellent additional benefits (e.g. generous company pension scheme, life assurance, healthcare)
* Overtime paid above core hours
* Full time hours (Mon-Fri) with early finish every Friday at 1pm
* Permanent role within an established and professional manufacturing business

The role:
* Production of mechanical assemblies, minor and major, and riveted structures
* Applying Velcro/material covers over assemblies and packing them ready for dispatch,
* The stripping down and repair of customer returned products,
* Responsible for ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping and workshop safety is maintained
The candidate:
* An understanding of engineering drawings & ability to use hand tools for fabrication (e.g. air tools, rivet gun, pliers etc)
* Must have prior riveting experience
* Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) grade C in both English and Maths
* Engineering/manufacturing related experience, ideally apprenticeship served
* Living within a reasonable commute to Southend (Essex) or willing to relocate.
* Able to live and work in the UK without restriction
