Process Operative - Wafer - Permanent - Buckinghamshire - up to GBP25,000 per annum

Datasource are recruiting for process operatives for our clients busy wafer department. As a process operative, you will be working or have worked in a wafer processing role, working closely within a small team to achieve production goals and schedules and liaising with the Engineer and Engineering Manager over processing issues, equipment maintenance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing wafers using a range of manufacturing tools and equipment, some under high magnification.
  • Operation of automated semiconductor tools and manual wafer processing.
  • Working with chemicals used for processing in a safe and responsible manner, restocking as required.
  • Work to clearly defined goals with respect to quality, output and timescale.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required & maintain all documentation and records as requested
  • Being flexible between processes where appropriate training has been given.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Provide timely feedback to supervisor/manager on any technical or quality issues that arise
  • Ensure all work & time is recorded appropriately
  • Observe general housekeeping rules and maintain a clean and tidy working environment at all times
  • Ensure that all Environmental Health and Safety/Company Policies are adhered to at all times
  • Assistance in other departments in order to meet Company objectives.
  • Capable of reading and understanding information contained within lot travellers to assure that all requirements or special instructions applicable to the job are met
  • Capable of following traveller, layout and patterning requirements for customer's specifications.
  • Debug and resolve basic processing issues and report them to the other members of the group.
  • Continuous Improvement, You will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business; expectations are around 4 a year. This responsibility forms part all employees' job description.

Skills/Experience:

  • 1 year relevant experience within the electronics/chemical industry (see note below)
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to work under a microscope
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness
  • Operation of automated tools and user interfaces
