Based in County Hall, Chelmsford (Regular travel to customer schools both within and outside the County of Essex)

Essex Education Services (EES) provides specialist HR support to around 600 schools in Essex, Suffolk and London Boroughs. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our dedicated and committed team of 22 staff. We are looking to appoint a Senior HR Consultant to manage client relationships within a designated cluster of schools, ensuring contact and sound working relationships between the service and customers is maintained.Duties of this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:

* Providing a comprehensive HR advice and support service to customers with regard to complex case work and change programmes
* Being proactive in marketing, selling and promoting services to new and existing customers, identifying and securing new business as required to meet service targets and objectives contributing to the design and delivery of training for Governors, School leaders Colleagues in EES and other areas of the Local Authority as required.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues in the delivery of school improvement project work.
* Mentoring, training and developing HR Consultants to ensure consistent, quality service to customers.
* Ensuring case work, HR projects and other services follow consistent HR standards, frameworks and procedures, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of employment law, conditions of service and other relevant legislation.

The successful candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert in employment law, and will have demonstrable experience of complex generalist HR Casework. As a Senior HR Consultant, you will carry complex cases, often working closely with the education consultants, safeguarding units and legal teams within Essex County Council to ensure quality service to our customers.

Education experience is not essential for this position. There will be a comprehensive induction and training programme for all new employees.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess a professional qualification (CIPD) or equivalent work-based experience, and have sound knowledge of employment Law.
