Maintenance Technician Milti-Skilled

Cardiff - CF14 7YT

12 Month Contract - possible Temp to Perm

GBP19.47 per hour

My client are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team on a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be pro-active and excited at working in a state of the art, tech heavy facility.

The role is working on a 2 shift pattern of:

06:00 - 14:00

14:00 - 22:00

With one week of nights every 5 weeks (22:00 - 06:00).

Description:

Production Maintenance Technician Multiskilled, reporting to the Engineering Team Leader. Maintain and repair bespoke production equipment in a cleanroom environment. Assist in the continual improvement of Maintenance Processes and Procedures, ensuring Safety and Quality compliance of all maintenance procedures and documentation.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Conduct routine planned maintenance as detailed by the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and directed by the Engineering Team Leader
  • Support production activities at all times by ensuring minimum response times to equipment breakdowns and achievement of equipment availability targets.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in line with lean thinking and Maintenance best practice.
  • Maintain safety and regulatory equipment at all times and report any defects.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities carried out on equipment including hours worked, spare parts used etc. are recorded using the site CMMS system
  • Ensure that maintenance cover for all areas is provided at all times by demonstrating flexibility regarding working overtime to provide cover for holidays, sick leave, shutdown periods, busy periods and as required.
  • Ensure that production critical utility supplies are maintained at all times.

Quality Specific Goals:

  1. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  2. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Required Qualifications:

  1. Engineering Apprenticeship, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline.
  2. Some experience in maintenance in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
  3. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation.
  4. Strong multiskilled fault-finding repair and diagnostic skills.
  5. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience of:

  1. Experience of PLC controlled equipment
  2. Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and principles
  3. Knowledge of Lean principles with an active approach to Continuous Improvement.
  4. Good verbal and written communication skills
  5. The ability to work, flexibly, quickly and under pressure whilst maintaining a positive approach.
  6. A working knowledge of a regulated industry
  7. The ability to manage a varied workload, working well within a team to achieve combined targets.
