General Summary:
This a 12 month FTC
This Position is accountable for owning and driving key people strategies in the UK and Ireland connected to overall business objectives. This position is responsible for all aspects of talent management including acquisition, learning, career and leadership development. In addition the position is accountable for leading the cultural development to ensure demonstrable values of diversity and inclusion. The role includes strategy development; operational planning; direct management of in-house and outsourced resources.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Develop a robust talent acquisition and development strategy aligned to the company's business objectives and supporting Unum UK and Ireland's business priorities by partnering with the business leaders and HR Business Partners.
- Accountable for ensuring the development and delivery of recruitment and selection strategies that underpin the overall talent strategy ensuring alignment and synergies to the companies Diversity and Inclusion agenda.
- Effectively collaborate with HR colleagues in HR Business Partner roles, Global Service Delivery, Global Compensation, and Global Benefits in supporting attraction, development and retention of talent.
- Accountable for ensuring that all regulatory and governance frameworks are successfully delivered throughout the recruitment and selection process.
- Build recruitment capability across the UK business.
- Leadership and day to day management of the resourcing and development teams, building a high performing team.
- Enable and ensure Program Management is focussed on improving line manager competence and capability that supports the overall achievement of a solid leadership bench.
- Oversee the development and delivery of strategic development programmes for all leaders aligned to the business objectives.
- Ensure the provision on creative, innovation and agile learning interventions that meet the changing culture and social needs of the business.
- Oversee the development and innovation related to all Unum's competency and behavioural frameworks.
- Oversee the development, implementation and embedding of succession planning practices.
- Lead the development and delivery of coaching and mentoring capability within Unum, championing the benefits of coaching, mentoring and sponsorship.
- Proactively and systemically build, track and provide training metrics back to the business that provide multiple indicators of business ROI, and provide analysis of data to identify trends, as well as actionable recommendations.
- Direct the development and implementation of innovative recruiting and sourcing strategies and processes that maximize quality, speed, and efficiency and generate diverse candidate pools.
- Direct the development and implementation of selection processes and tools that promote ease of use and ensure best candidate selection.
- Direct the selection, contracting and management of vendors including search firm partners, job posting vendors, candidate networking tools, assessment vendors, etc.; Partner and align with Global Procurement as appropriate.
- Develop/implement metrics to measure results; benchmark metrics against key industry standard and make recommendations across all disciplines.
- Develop and effectively manage department operating budget.
- Ensure the continued protection of Unum's information, by following all applicable Information Security policies and procedures and by reporting suspected weaknesses in information security controls to the Information Security Officer.
- Embed and contribute to the Conduct Risk Framework, wider Solvency II systems of governance principles, Treating Customers Fairly requirements and the Risk Management Framework as it applies to the role and divisional activities and drive improvements as required.
- Comply with Unum's Code of Conduct and other Company Policies and Procedures as appropriate.
