LGV Driver Trainer

Due to continued growth, A. W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd. is looking for an additional LGV Driver Trainer to be based at our Gillwilly Offices, Penrith.

The business operates in excess of 550 LGV Vehicles with maintenance workshops over four separate sites and several depots around the country.

The position involves:
Carrying out driver licence checks and undertaking pre-employment
driving assessments
Licence acquisition and on the job training for drivers on apprenticeships
Induction of new drivers
Deliver relevant training and conduct driver appraisals for existing drivers.
Administer and present DCPC courses

The successful candidate will have a valid LGV licence and experience of bulk transport. Ideally he/she will be a DSA or NIR qualified instructor with excellent presentation skills, with a basic teaching qualification, e.g. PTLLS and IOSH Managing Safely Certificate, though training will be provided where necessary.

Involvement with LGV Apprenticeship would be advantageous.

As the company operates throughout the United Kingdom there will be a requirement to travel and the need for a flexible approach to work as there will be the requirement for some early starts and late finishes.
