Proposal Writer - UKAEA

Overall Purpose:
The Proposal Writer will join the Business Development team that supports all of the business units across UKAEA. Your job is to respond to any proposal requests by pulling together technical, contractual and business development content to be able to respond and write proposals. Proposals may include Grant Applications, New Business Proposals to name but a few.
The Business Development (BD) team is strategically important for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. BD provides supports to all areas of the business, including commercial support, proposal support, strategic road-mapping, market Intelligence, customer relationship management and industry networking.

The primary purpose of this job is to manage and prepare proposals.

Accountabilities:
• To prepare proposals for new business /collaboration opportunities that "sells" the benefits / value of UKAEA to the customer/collaborator.
• To improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the proposal management process.
• Proposal management and responsible for the whole life cycle of a proposal, from initially setting the overall proposal structure and content to maximise our score/probability of winning, ensuring the proposal meets the customer's requirements for content/format, ensuring appropriate quality and consistency in application/format/style etc.
• Working with the technical team to "Sell" the UKAEA's technical expertise, writing all the interconnecting paragraphs that consolidate the document into the final form
• Physical or electronic proposal submission, all whilst satisfying the internal and customer driven timescales.

Essential:
• You must have excellent written English for this role.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• Technical proposal writing skills.
• Being highly organised is key.

Desirable
• Knowledge and experience of UK and EU legal [contractual] framework.
• Knowledge and experience of negotiating and operating a range of contract models
• A journalistic background.
• Project delivery and management in a scientific and engineering market place
