Head of Housekeeping - Care Home
PURPOSE OF JOB
Under the supervision of the Home Manager, lead a team to ensure the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene within the Home and/or a clean, well-presented and well-maintained supply of clothing for all residents, and linen for the Home, is available at all times.
MAIN JOB ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all duties of the cleaning and/or laundry staff.
- Work as part of the domestic/laundry staff
teams as needed.
- Make up duty rotas for cleaning and/or laundry staff, and convert these to timesheets for the payroll.
- Under supervision of the Home Manager, carry out annual staff appraisals for domestic and/or laundry staff. Conduct quarterly staff supervision and personal development plan.
- Under supervision of Home Manager, organise sufficient levels of materials and supplies for cleaning and/or laundry staff, whilst being mindful of budgetary control. Operate an efficient stock control system.
- Under supervision of Home Manager, participate in the TAP audit for laundry and/or domestic sections.
- Assist in keeping the Home environment clean, tidy and hazard free e.g. cleaning of equipment and safe disposal of waste.
- Ensure that the Company policy on infection control is adhered to at all times.
- Ensure that the Company policy on Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) is adhered to.
- Assist in the recruitment of staff. Induct new starters in accordance with
company policy. Lead, motivate and direct staff.
- Ensure accurate, legible records are kept
