Salary starts at GBP17,600 to GBP19,100 per annum rising to GBP23,500 per annum through performance.

We are looking for an energised and passionate Project Worker like you (known internally by us as a Support Co-ordinator - Level 3) to join our service which provides support to adults. St Bedes House is a dynamic Supported Housing Service in Gateshead providing 16 fully furnished apartments as well as two dispersed properties in the community for customers experiencing mental health and homelessness. Working at St Bedes House could be compared to winning the postcode lottery as you will be working with one of the most awesome teams in the area. We are an extremely energetic and caring team and we ' re looking for someone to join us who doesn't mind a spoonful of sarcasm with their coffee, radio station disagreements, squirrels, and an appreciation for our coordinator Angie busting out moves to anything on the radio.

At St Bedes we are all very motivated around the new strategy and have recently redesigned our office space, this has enabled us to share our space with Housing Mangers working with our rented customers. It's fair to say there is lots of sharing going on which could be anything from 'chocolate biscuits' to 'best practise'. We want to be a lead in the area on innovative support solutions and new models of care so it's an exciting time to join us.

As Lead Support Worker you will manage a caseload of customers, working closely with external agencies and our amazing team of Support Workers in delivering person centred support. We know that one size doesn't fit all, so our customers lead their own support every step of the way. Together you will really make a difference, empowering our customers to achieve their goals and aspirations as outlined in their support plans and develop the independent living skills they need to successfully move on with a positive future.

You will help shape our services, undertake risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. You'll also guide and allocate tasks to our Support Workers too. It's really important to us that you have time to what you are really passionate about; making a real difference to our customers lives. So to free up your time, you'll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system which means that you don't have to be in the office as you can complete support plans on the go. You'll also be paid between customers visit and for your mileage too.

To flourish in the role, you will be a like-minded dedicated person who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and creativity in your approach and use your unique skills in enabling customers to reach their full potential.

With previous experience of working with vulnerable people in a support or care environment, you will have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality and be experienced in case management. It's also important that you can work in holistic way building partnerships with external agencies and that you have strong IT skills too.

The rota is a four week rolling rota and was recently changed in March 2017 with front line colleague input and provides a great work/home life balance. Your earliest start time is 8am and the latest finish time is 8pm.

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we'll pay for.
