Absolute is operating at a Recruitment Agency for the supply of temporary opportunities.
A global innovative electronics manufacturing company, based near Newport are lookin to bring on board a Test Engineer to work along the current test engineer and support NPI (New product innovation). This is at PCB assembly level testing, not functional testing.
Some of the role / responsibilities:
* Co-ordinate with sub-contractors to create the outsourced ICT (bed of nails) test solution.
* Generate and program the flying probe testers.
* Ensure that we have a contingency plan for multiple test platforms.
* Train Test Technicians in the use of equipment, and validate competence.
* Implementation of customer engineering change notes (ECN's) on the test solution
* Monitor yields and improve processes using continuous improvement tools.
* Monitor and improve product efficiencies, and improve where there is opportunity.
* Provide support to production to help solve diagnostic problems
* Generate Preventative Maintenance plans for the test equipment.
* Assist in planned preventative maintenance on various production processes.
* Meeting health & safety requirements
* Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct.
* Liaise with customer design teams to promote viable & maximised test specifications
* DFx involvement to support existing and new business opportunities
* Implementation of new test solutions that meet both customer & company requirements by project managing external suppliers
* Selection of suitable external suppliers to meet test solution requirements.
* Monitoring ensuring sub contractors deliver the test solution as per the agreed delivery date.
* Quotations for test solutions for new and existing business opportunities, ICT & flying probe only.
* Carry out reliability testing in line with company procedures.
* Support Product Engineering team in yield analysis and improvement activities.
