The opportunity:

Zurich has exciting opportunities in our Birmingham office fo experienced Claims Handlers to work in our specialist Occupational Disease Unit. Would you like to join one of our dynamic teams and be part of our success?

Being a Claims Handler involves dealing with customers who hold their insurance with Zurich and want to make a claim against their policy. Using your own life experience, you will offer a high level of customer service whilst logging details of the incident, helping to resolve customer issues and questions, and processing the claim through to conclusion.

You will be offered full training in this role. It is important for our customers to feel confident that their claims are being handled correctly, fairly and efficiently so your own personal qualities are really important

Main Accountabilities:
  • Promptly handles, and positively resolves enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a bespoke claims service.
  • Reviews, resolves and dedicatedly finalises claims within authority limits ensuring claims are settled satisfactorily while considering the business implications.
  • Work authoritatively to maximise productivity and profitability within the team.
  • Positively contributes to help improve the positive and supportive team culture.
  • Provide supervisory assistance on an ad hoc basis as required
Your skills and experience:
  • Have a good knowledge of Occupational Disease products and services.
  • Have an understanding of the relevant legislation, legal liability and industry standards and protocols.
  • Be able to demonstrate a knowledge of claims agreements and interpret policy cover.
  • Demonstrate an ability and desire to deliver excellent customer service
  • Be an enthusiastic and dedicated teammate who is able to coach, motivate and develop others when required.
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation skills, and have the ability to cope with varying workloads and pressures
  • Be decisive and diligent in finding the best solution for the customer
  • Have gained Disease specific claims, protocol, procedure and legislation.
