Community Fundraiser - Partnerships & Events

The purpose of the role is to implement the community partnerships strategy, growing net income from all forms of local area fundraising in order to meet agreed targets. You will also be establishing effective local relationships and create strong links in order to generate and secure fundraising opportunities, partnerships and events.
As the Community Fundraiser, you will maximise connections within the local community to support core activity/expenditure within the Home, and utilise fundraising activity and communication to help raise the profile of the Home, supporting occupancy and volunteer recruitment.
Hours are 9am-5pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNDRAISING AND PLANNING
* To recruit and develop relationships with community groups and organisations including local corporates, trusts, schools and groups resulting in an effective prospect pipeline
* To identify appropriate participation events locally and to recruit people to take part raising targets which generate a min ROI of 2:1
* To effectively evaluate all approaches (active and proactive) for potential income and to organise time and support accordingly
* To deliver excellent levels of supporter care to each organisation, group or individual undertaking fundraising with the aim of longer term retention (min 50% supporters year on year)
* To co-create and then deliver a range of agreed national events or activity that will be reflected across all sites
* Where required, to recruit volunteers to help support fundraising events or activity
COMMUNICATION
* Establish excellent and appropriate written and verbal communication with all supporters, including attending local events, networking and visits
* To deliver clear and impactful presentations on the work of the charity to local groups making a pledge or commitment to fundraise for the Charity
* To work effectively and collaboratively with the Home Manager and other related staff to identify and run appropriate fundraising activity in the Home engaging residents and their families as appropriate
* To coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team on activity ensuring that any messaging or promotion
* Where appropriate to distribute information relating to Home occupancy or volunteering opportunities
ADMINISTRATION
* Appropriately track income & expenditure of each fundraising activity, event or partnership in order to provide monthly reporting against targets to the Head of Fundraising.
* To maintain & promote the keeping of accurate records in all aspects of the role fully utilising the functions of the Customer Relationship Management system (Raisers Edge)
* Ensure all local fundraising events & activities run effectively, to agreed budgets and are well planned, promoted and supported.
OTHER
* To act as a representative of the Charity at events and activities where appropriate, this will involve some out of office working
* To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the FRSB, IOF and the GDPR, implementing these wherever necessary
* To promote & deliver the highest standards of care, respect and support to residents, colleagues and others
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Experience of fundraising events ideally within the local community and of effectively raising income to meet targets
* Knowledge and understanding of the approach to fundraising from companies, trusts and local groups
* Experience of event planning, organisation and management with the ability to undertake effective evaluation
* Experience of developing compelling communications to supporters
* Excellent communication skills particularly face-to-face and on the phone, but including email & social media channels
* The ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload delivering projects to a high standard and to meet agreed deadlines
* Well practised and confident in preparing and delivering presentations to a broad mix of groups both large and small
* Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & those related to communicating online (email & social media channels)
* The ability to travel in the areas around the Charity's Homes and to the Head Office in and to occasionally make overnight stays
* Be willing to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends
