Are you an experienced estimator looking for a new challenge?
Meridian Business Support are pleased to be recruiting for an estimator in Merthyr Tydfil. You will be joining a company with massive growth plans over the next 5 years and you will have a big part to play in that.
This role may also suit candidates currently working in a Quantity Surveyor role that wants to take the next step in their career.
As an estimator you will be involved throughout the whole project from finding out what the client wants to monitoring the project once it is live to ensure the costs are in line with the estimations.
You will also to required to:
* Research costs for materials, equipment and labour to understand the market before gathering quotes from suppliers and sub contractors
* Analysing all quotes fully to be able to submit quotations for work
* Agree project specifications with the customer ensuring all aspects are costed correctly taking in to consideration any commercial or technical matters
* Prepare thorough documents for handover to the relevant teams
* Assess levels of risk on a project at each stage
* Assist with the buying process and be involved in the tender process for new work.
* Visit the customer as required
The successful candidate will:
* Have a proven track record of working as an estimator within the manufacturing industry
* Be a confident communicator and have the ability to negotiate costs and contracts effectively
* Be able to analyse data efficiently and be able to make an informed judgement when in some cases there is little information available to you.
* Understand your marketplace and take in external influences like exchange rates when pricing
* Be able to adapt to change quickly and be pro-active in sorting any issues that may arise through the project.
* Be able to work well within a team and ensure efficient communication with every department involved in the project.
