About the Role:
City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Horticulture Technician / grounds person. This position is part time, will be based at the South Bristol Skills Academy in the City and will be working as part of the Horticulture team which will provide grounds control and resource management to meet the needs of the Horticulture Curriculum.
What you’ll be responsible for/what we are looking for:
The role will involve:
- Providing help, advise and assist students during their training and whilst carrying out practical activities or assist other lecturers in a classroom as part of a curriculum programme
- Maintaining the resources within the Horticulture gardens / areas to ensure they are fit for purpose to meet the Curriculum need.
- Seek and resource live resources to meet the changing needs of the curriculum
- Monitoring stock control and ordering resources to meet the curriculum need.
- Plan projects and resources, from design through to completion in the Horticulture gardens to meet the Curriculum need referring to the budget holder for approval.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with the horticulture sector and who is confident in working in a fast paced environment, with changing priorities.
You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.
