The Whitby High School is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Science Technician to join our friendly staff.
Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset)
Person specification
- Sufficient knowledge to support teaching staff at an appropriate level
- Understanding of COSHH Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory methodologies and practices, quantities and reactions of mixing chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Excellent communication skills.
- GCSE English, Maths and Science
- Previous experience in a similar role.
Science Technician duties
- Providing a practical, daily technical service to members of the teaching staff in the science department.
- Responsible for the preparation and provision of equipment, apparatus and chemicals to enable students to carry our laboratory experiments.
- Cleaning, maintenance, testing and repairing equipment
- Full training available if required.
