Harvey Nash are now inviting candidates to apply for the position of: Early Learning and Childcare Professional Advisor, this is a part time position for 6 months, three days per week on average (22 hours), with scope to build up to 37 hours per week depending on work demands.

Regular travel will be required across the local authority network in Scotland (time and costs to be reimbursed). This role will mostly be based in Edinburgh.

The Early Learning and Childcare Programme is responsible for delivering a near doubling of funded early learning and childcare (ELC) entitlement in Scotland and for ensuring that the expansion reflects Scottish Ministers' vision for high quality, flexible ELC which is affordable and accessible to all.

Our client is working in partnership with local authorities to deliver the expansion.

As the Early Learning and Childcare Professional Advisor you will be:

  • Working closely with project managers to support them in change activities with local authorities and other providers to ensure that Scottish Ministers' vision for the expansion of early learning and childcare is realised
  • Delivering change workshops and other events with local authority leaders and other providers to support them in understanding and implementing the changes required
  • Provide professional advice on service delivery in early learning and childcare to the project teams, including workforce models, curriculum, outdoor learning provision, services for eligible 2 year olds and partnership working with providers in other sectors.

For this role you will need:

  • Significant experience in delivering or leading the delivery of early learning and childcare services in Scotland
  • Track record in successfully implementing change, with a particular focus on securing stakeholder buy-in
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and influence a range of stakeholders in a way that promotes collaborative working
  • Candidates will also need a valid (within the last 12 years) Basic Disclosure check
