Early Intervention Officer

(Temporary Initial 12 month contract)

Salary:  up to £26,061per annum, 37 hours per week

(Benefits include company pension scheme, private healthcare scheme)

The Early Intervention Officer will be responsible for a comprehensive assessment of a tenant’s financial situation.  Working in partnership with other teams and agencies you will support all new, assigning and transferring tenants so they are equipped to sustain their tenancy. The successful candidate will manage the rent account for 8-12 weeks post sign up to ensure support, advice and regular payments are received. The candidate will take rent enforcement action where necessary.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Complete pre tenancy affordability checks for all new, assigning and transferring tenancies
  • Identify high risk tenancies linked to debt and financial exclusion
  • Understand the impact of UC on our housing register and perspective new customers.
  • Be the oracle of welfare benefits information and associated legislation
  • Have excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with internal teams and external agencies where appropriate
  • Be proactive and have a ‘can do’ approach
  • Hold a full driving licence
