My client is a market leading design and manufacturing Aerospace business in Hampshire that are looking for a Quality Engineer.
Description
The Quality Engineer will join is required to join the existing Quality Assurance team, working with Design/Development teams, Operations and Purchasing/Suppliers and Customers. Te role is to support on all aspects of product assurance, ensuring product quality and the integrity of their design and manufacturing processes.
- Day to Day Management of Quality Aspects.
- Monitoring and Measuring of KPIs + leading KPI review meetings.
- Assist or Review of First Article Inspection Reports.
- To improve the Quality of products by liaising with Staff, Management, Customers and Suppliers.
- To ensure that the processes in place are maintained, including Design, Calibration and Release to Customer's various requirements.
- Managing/ resolving quality issues from production, customer rejects and drive supplier related issues using 5Y or 8D principles.
- Management of Suppliers through Approved Supplier List.
- Conduct Supplier Audits to AS9100 standard.
Profile
- AS9100 Rev D trained.

3+ years working within similar role.
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
- Ideally knowledge of Part 21G, Part 21J and Part 145 regulations.
- Familiar with Quality tools and techniques - Root cause analysis e.g. 5Y, 8D, etc.
- Able to lead root cause and corrective action activities.
- Knowledge of First Article visual and dimensional inspection to customer drawings and/or sample parts.
- Able to read and understand product technical drawings and specifications.
- Working to tight deadlines either on a regular or adhoc basis will be required.
- Occasional travel within the UK and abroad with overnight stays may be required to visit Customers or Supplier sites.
- Computer literate and able to use both MRP and Microsoft Software.
