Assistant Pricing Manager - Edinburgh

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Pricing Manager with an understanding of mortgages to join a leading financial services business in Edinburgh on a permanent basis.
Purpose:
The successful candidate will play an important role in the creation, management & pricing of a Mortgages product range. Support the delivery of market share targets in the annual and 5 year plans. Deliver sales, new lending, further advance lending, retention lending, margin, return & risk targets.
Core Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development of the commercial and trading MI.
- Managing the delivery of changes to Standard Variable Rate for the Mortgage business.
- Managing the delivery of changes to the product range for new lending, further advances & retention products.
- Building relationships with stakeholders, communicating & interlocking changes with internal & external stakeholders, including sales force, brokers & 3rd party suppliers.
- Developing & embedding clear governance process that all product & pricing changes follow, creating and following process flows with appropriate controls & hand off/hand ins.
- Undertaking appropriate post implementation testing & checks on sourcing systems etc.
- Undertaking appropriate analysis to support pricing recommendations.
- Undertaking analysis to build a deeper understanding of profit pools, segment & channel profitability.
- Developing & implementing performance reporting (Daily, Weekly & Monthly) for volume and P&L commitments, including customer numbers, balances, business mix, income, costs, profit and product performance.
- Providing support in the annual and 5 year reforecasts process/cycles
- Embracing conduct, operational & regulatory risk management as a key responsibility in role, identifying, owning and appropriately managing role specific risks, driving appropriate customer outcomes.

Desired Experience:
The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge in product/commercial management, risk management, management information or customer analysis as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of mortgage products.
- Excellent analytical skills - highly numerate.
- Mortgage knowledge preferable.
- Demonstrate an ability to think and reason logically.
- Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team.
- Ability to prioritise multiple pressing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- An innovative, creative approach to problem solving.
- Customer focused, with an ability to understand customer need.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent written communication - proven report writing skills.
- Strong communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment, eg able to translate complex/technical issues to meet the audience's competency level.
