Virgin Media is currently searching for a Dispute Resolution Paralegal which is part of our Claims Division within our Legal Team here in Bradford.

What does a Dispute Resolution Paralegal do at Virgin Media?
The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team of graduate paralegals supervised by Qualified Solicitors / Chartered Legal Executives. Primary responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of unresolved complaints that have been escalated to independent dispute resolution
The majority of new instructions will be notified directly from the appointed arbitration service and as such you will be representing the company in every activity you undertake. You will need an excellent attention to detail as you consider claims made against the company and pick out the salient facts that will be considered at adjudication stage.
You will be required to display excellent communication / relationship skills in order to review and interpret information from VMs own systems and to liaise with those that dealt with this dispute before referral to dispute resolution.
You will produce high quality legal documentation, proof read, develop technical drafting skills and have the ability to take complex instructions from your supervising Specialist(s);
The dominant caseload will be small track value disputes. However, you will have the opportunity to support Solicitors / Chartered Legal Executives in preparing documents for court, legal research and other legal work to develop your skills and allow you to progress your career at VM.
The duties of a Dispute Resolution Paralegal are wide ranging, but ultimately involves;
Working with our operational teams to evaluate evidence and identify recoverable actions
Understanding operational pressures and finds light touch solutions to support our witnesses / partners
Working to achieve and deliver against the relevant KPI's
Proof read / accuracy checks work to an exceptional standard
Driving the best interests of the business and promotes a high achieving environment
Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and case law
Flexibility to support the operating model and ensure consistent advice to the business
Offering Role Model behaviours to the wider team
Achieving resolution of disputes to an agreed volume / value
