Here at Essex County Council, we're looking at things differently. By 2020, we aim to be both self-funded and self-sufficient, standing on our own two feet financially. It's a significant change and a huge challenge, but a welcome opportunity too. We're in a relatively strong financial position, however there's more we can do. We need to think differently, more entrepreneurially, more creatively about how we use resources to solve the problems of tomorrow.
To ensure that happens, we need people in place who are excited by challenges and inspired by our vision. People with the ambition and drive to do everything they can to bring about this change, together. People like you.
This is a real opportunity to make a difference leading on recruitment for senior hires and working with colleagues in leadership and talent to attract, retain and develop our leadership teams. Whilst working closely with the wider senior leadership team and elected members, building strong and trusting relationships, the small things will matter to you too, ensuring that the candidate journey is second to none. From the outset you'll be identifying and recommending sourcing approaches, recommending innovative talent attraction and assessment approaches and facilitating selection events. You'll also be responsible for leading on pre-employment and on-boarding activities.
You will have previous experience of successfully resourcing talent, and able to quickly build rapport and establish credibility with Members and senior leaders. Your combination of organisational and creative skills will enable you to identify and deliver innovative approaches and outcomes to create senior talent pipelines. And in balance you will need to have a hands on approach to support delivery of all aspects of the role, and a demonstrable understanding the value of getting the detail right first time.
We offer a competitive benefits package which includes 26 days annual leave, a local government pension scheme and access to retail discounts. For more information about our benefits, please visit the Working for Essex website.
Qualification certificates should be brought to interview.
Essex County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
We seek the best talent from the widest pool of people as diversity is key to our success.
Working for Essex welcome applications from all suitably qualified people regardless of gender, race, disability, age or sexual orientation.
Working for Essex is a trading name of Capita Resourcing Ltd. Services offered are those of an Employment Agency and Employment Business. Applicants will be required to register with us
