Based in Deeside, we are currently working alongside an established and growing manufacturing firm who due to sustained growth are now looking to appoint an experienced production engineer.

The main roles of the job are to co-ordinate and provide engineering support to all elements of the sites Manufacturing processes. In addition you will be required to undertake a wide range of process improvement and capital expenditure projects.

The main duties within the role have been highlighted below:

* Provide engineering support and problem solving expertise to ensure that customer orders are delivered on time to appropriate Standards of quality.

* Constantly review ways to improve production productivity and eliminate NVA activities via application of lean / 6 sigma principles

* Initiate Capex proposals from concept, through feasibility to implementation.

* Provide coaching and mentoring to Production Staff to ensure individuals reach suitable competence levels.

* Manage specific production projects as and when required.

* Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and safety tours.

* Purchase equipment, tooling and consumables.

This role would be well suited to an enthusiastic, driven, self starter with a 'can do' attitude, able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision. You should be capable of managing multiple tasks, using your own initiative and able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Ideally you will have the following experience / skills:

* Degree in manufacturing engineering / mechanical or similar qualification related to the engineering / manufacturing arena.

* Good knowledge of machining or fabrication methods

* A proven track record of identifying, leading and participating in improvement projects through application of operational excellence principles

* Possess excellent H&S awareness

* Experience of conducting feasibility studies, submitting justification proposals, purchasing and implementation of equipment.

* Capable of scoping out projects, creating logical work steps and using time and resources effectively.

Beyond the aforementioned, it would be desirable if you had the following:

* Ability to use AutoCAD / CAM software

* Greenbelt certificate in Six sigma

* Machining Knowledge

* A Formal health and safety qualification

* Fabrication and Welding Experience

* Purchasing capital equipment and tools
