Primary Function
Plan and manage all project requests related to the website functionality of the Trespass websites.
Description
Trespass are a prize winning outdoor clothing company with its headquarters based near the city centre of Glasgow. To allow the business to continue their growth online, we are looking for an Trainee Ecommerce Product Owner to join our Ecommerce team.
Having a retail background will be an advantage, as will experience in optimising content for Search Engine Optimisation and knowledge of consumer psychology & the part that the written work plays in converting website browsers to buyers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Take high-level briefs from any member of the department, understand the problem, lead and develop an optimal solution with minimal reliance on the stakeholder.
• Have full project life-cycle experience, including gathering requirements through to testing and implementation.
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve ad hoc issues as they arise.
• Be first-line support for the Ecommerce team when requests come in from other parts of the business, ensuring that we give a timely and helpful response.
• Routinely carry out structured website functionality testing to ensure that our offering is consistently meeting the needs of our customers.
• Be responsible for researching competitors, other best-in-breed website offerings and ecommerce blog articles, to ensure that we remain ahead of the curve in ecommerce.
• Manage and lead a variety of small changes and large feature projects, ensuring timescales are adhered to, and the highest quality is achieved.
• Use web analytics to identify methods of improving conversion and reducing abandonment rates, documenting your findings as test hypotheses or functional specification documents.
• Gain a detailed understanding of the various components of the Ecommerce operation.
• Take ownership for creating appropriate schedules and reports to ensure transparency and relevant communications to all stakeholders. • Any other tasks as requested by the Ecommerce Management Team.
• Prioritise daily and weekly workload accordingly and work to desired timescales.
• Take pride in achieving excellent standards in all your duties and responsibilities.
• Demonstrate a positive and motivated attitude while being professional at all times.
