Our employability team is growing! We are currently looking for an experienced Functional Skills Trainer to join our successful team within our Bolton Centre.
Main Responsibilities include:
Act as a subject matter specialist, driving the development and delivery of a robust training plan to Babington's specification.
Provide aspirational tuition, support and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey, helping them to progress, achieve and reach their potential.
Apply effective classroom management methods to provide inspirational and innovative learning episodes and engagements with learners.
Conduct regular and timely progression reviews with learners as per the standard operating model, setting SMART targets and providing additional learner support as required.
Manage data relating to individual learner targets including working with other colleagues to ensure the onward progression of learners.
Promote and embed Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and Health and Safety to all learning sessions.
Ensure learning environment is safe and maintained with sufficient resources available to all learners.
Regularly review own performance against core values and competencies, with a willingness to acquire any necessary qualifications or skills pertinent to the role.
Implement and maintain own CPPD records to accurately demonstrate preservation of professional competencies and knowledge for vocational area of specialism.
Act as an ambassador for Babington exhibiting enthusiasm and professionalism at all times.
Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of the business
What we look for in our Trainers
Grade A-C GCSE in English and maths or equivalent.
Hold a Level 3 qualification in at least one of the following areas - Accounting, Business, Leadership and Management, Information Technology, Literacy or Numeracy, Information, Advice or Guidance
Experience of working with young people to help to remove barriers and support progression into employment, education or training
Experience of providing interactive and engaging training and development opportunities to adults.
Experience of developing bespoke learning programmes and resources.
Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with a wide variety of people.
Knowledge of labour market information.
Knowledge of the Awarding Organisations, Funding Bodies and Ofsted regulatory arrangements.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to manage workload, time and resources effectively.
Ability to deliver to agreed targets.
Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure, managing themselves appropriately.
Pro-active and positive 'cand do' attitude.
Passionate about teaching and learning.
Adaptability - changing working environments.
