Primestaff are working with our well-established client to recruit an experienced Technical & Quality facilitator, reporting to the Quality manager to support quality assurance and adherence to plant process and the improvement of technical knowledge within a busy packaging manufacturing environment.
Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate:
Technical
• Carry out necessary actions / steps to ensure new products conform to the customers manufacturing and quality needs, and that it falls within the manufacturing process capabilities.
• Identify, develop and implement plans for cost reduction, waste reduction and increased throughput.
• Complete Internal trials to determine process improvements in the manufacturing process.
• Create Specifications and test methods for new products.
• Serve as a technical contributor and assist in the industrialisation of new products and transfers using technical expertise.
• Complete NPD trials and liaise with R & D on a case by case basis
Quality
* Deal with day to day quality issues with Team Leaders and Line Managers.
* Develop a database for product data sheets.
* Analyse complex complaints, formulate corrective actions with managers and monitor implementation.
* Proactively lead the reduction of complaints at source.
* Create Supplier COC/COA.
* Complete audits as required.
* Trouble shoot production / quality issues and communicate / train others in the opportunities and solutions.
* Identify quality improvements, create new operating procedures and monitor compliance.
* Deputise for Quality Manager as required
* Ensure DRS spreadsheets is updated and maintained and trends are communicated to the Quality Manager
* Oversee and assist in completion of tasks conducted by the Assistant Day Quality
* Support the Quality Manager in ensuring the accurate completion of all Assistant Day Quality tasks.
* Complete reports as required.
* Provide cover for other Quality Department roles as required
* Provide training to Q Techs and department in new and updated procedures
* Manage DRS and trials area.
* Complete all trials paperwork in accordance with the trials procedure ensuring they take place in a timely manner
Skills and experience required:
* Graduate/Bachelor's Degree in engineering /science discipline
* Manufacturing experience essential
* Experience in a technical role within flexible manufacturing- essential
* Willing to develop
* May involve travel to Customers in the UK.
Hours: Monday - Friday Full time
