You'll be designing/ programming PLC control software from scratch - ANY PLC will do, and they'll adapt what you know. Anything from Allen Bradley to Siemens S7 PLC's, Omron, B&R, Mitsubishi PLC's, Beckhoff Twincat etc can be adapted.
You'll do some HMI configuring, any Robotics experience would be good but can be taught, some ability with safety systems and assisting with electrical design could be useful too. The MAIN essential skill is the PLC programming, and interest in machinery automation.
