Land Drainage Operative - Lincoln -  Permanent 

£10.75 per hour 

Upper Witham Internal Drainage Board  (IDB) 

A public body that manages water levels in the city of Lincoln and surrounding area. 

Qualifications: 

• Full UK driving licence

Skills and Experience:

• plant machine operator 
• powered hand tools 
• general labouring
• Independent and team work
• work outdoors 

Responsibilities: 

• Operating range of machinery: tractor / paddock flail, excavator, variety of attachments
• Chainsaw work, hedge cutter, bushing, and physical work
• Strimming of banks, pumping station compounds and depots
• Bank slip repairs, removal of obstructions from water courses
• Short notice emergency and call-out duties.

Also: 

• literacy and numeracy
• Assisting in workshop duties
• Building maintenance, fencing
• manage and maintain paper and electronic records
• knowledge of drainage boards
• reasonable knowledge of networks and villages around the district
• able to work in a safe manner essential
• communication skills 
• effective team work
