Our client is a collaboration of 12 Local Government Pension Funds with a total asset value of circa £47bn. They have joined together and established an FCA regulated investment company (our client) to manage these assets through both internal and external management within a number of investment vehicles, including an Authorised Contractual Scheme. The initial assets (circa £7bn) have now been transitioned and work is progressing to develop the structures and transition the remaining assets. 

They now have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the senior leadership team as Head of Finance to build the organisation’s Finance & Reporting team and contribute to the shaping of organisation’s strategic direction going forward.

In the role you will be accountable for all financial matters and management to include; financial reporting and control, business planning and forecasting, capital management and regulatory reporting. Creating and leading a high-performance Finance function, ensuring systems and processes are optimised in the most cost efficient way, you will lead customer engagement on funding and cost sharing, develop and implement tax strategy and lead at a national level on financial initiative developments e.g. cost transparency for asset managers.

With a recognised CCAB accounting qualification, along with substantial relevant post qualification experience, you will have experience in a senior Finance role in the Financial Services sector.  Able to lead, manage and develop a team and with excellent influencing and communication skills, you will have experience of preparing reports and presenting to Corporate Boards and Audit & Risk Committees, relationship management and knowledge of relevant financial reporting standards and regulation (UK GAAP and IFRS).

Experience of FCA regulations and returns (including Capital Resource Directive / Individual Capital Adequacy Assessment Process and MiFiD) along with Finance systems implementation and / or development is desirable.
