HEALTH AND SAFETY/REGULATORY LAWYER FROM 4+ PQE- MANCHESTER
Brief
We are currently looking to recruit one health and safety/regulatory lawyer (with criminal regulatory defence experience) to join the Regulatory team of a leading international law firm to be based in any of our Manchester Office (or a combination of these). We are ideally looking for candidates between 4 and 6 years post qualification experience, for which this would represent an excellent opportunity for career advancement whilst working in a friendly and collaborative team.
The Team
The team in England comprises two partners, one legal director, two senior associates, three associates, three assistant solicitors and one non-lawyer consultant providing regulatory advice and services across all our offices in the UK. Two of the team are also qualified as chartered safety and health practitioners. Across the UK, there are a total of six partners and fifteen non-partner lawyers in the national team.
The Candidate Required
The successful candidate will ideally have gained relevant experience in a City firm or large regional practice and should have good expertise in Criminal Regulatory defence work, especially in health and safety. The role will involve primarily contentious and non-contentious advice and support to clients in the context of health and safety, fire safety and other regulatory compliance issues such as health care/CQC work. Experience of advocacy is valued. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a national team that acts on high profile instructions from major national and international clients. We are looking for the right candidate so the role can be based out of any of our Regional offices (Manchester or Birmingham) or a combination of these locations. The role will involve travel to other offices and clients offices, as required. Applicants should indicate their preferred office location(s) when applying. The successful candidate will work closely with both partners in England - Kevin Bridges (Head of Health and Safety) and Sean Elson.
Candidates must be technically excellent with a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills. Equally important is commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development. They will need to be team players with a strong client focussed approach and must be willing to travel nationally for clients and trials.
