Translator

Fixed Term Contract (Up to 12 Months to cover Maternity Leave), Part Time (0.7 FTE)

We’re now looking for a Translator to join us at our Yale campus on a part time basis for 25.9 hours per week. This is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.

You will provide a translation service for the College that facilitates the implementation of the College’s Welsh Language Scheme and promotes bilingual teaching, study and administration. You will translate various corporate documents such as; policies, forms, letters, adverts, recruiting information, newsletters, signs, circulars and leaflets from English to Welsh and vice versa and provide a proof reading, editing and checking service for Welsh texts produced by other members of staff. You will also provide advice to staff on translation matters including grammar and terminology and assist and advise on matters relating to the College’s Welsh Language Scheme.

So if you hold a relevant Degree or equivalent professional qualification in an appropriate subject and have experience of translation work, ideally gained in the education sector, then we would love to hear from you!

With well developed ICT skills and the ability to work as part of a team, you will be comfortable working under pressure and be able to respond pro-actively to enquiries and requests.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is essential.

Byddwch yn darparu gwasanaeth cyfieithu ar gyfer y coleg sy'n hwyluso gweithredu Cynllun Iaith Gymraeg y Coleg ac yn hyrwyddo addysgu, astudio a gweinyddu’n ddwyieithog.  Byddwch yn cyfieithu dogfennau corfforaethol amrywiol fel; polisïau, ffurflenni, llythyrau, hysbysebion, gwybodaeth recriwtio, cylchlythyrau, arwyddion a thaflenni o’r Saesneg i’r Gymraeg ac fel arall.  Byddwch yn darparu gwasanaeth darllen proflenni a gwirio testunau Cymraeg a gynhyrchwyd gan aelodau eraill o staff.  Byddwch hefyd yn cynghori staff ar faterion cyfieithu, gan gynnwys gramadeg a therminoleg a chynorthwyo a chynghori ar faterion sy'n ymwneud â Chynllun Iaith Gymraeg y Coleg.
