Community Development Officer
This is your chance to improving the lives of people in the Llanedi community.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Llanedi Community Council for an experienced Community Development Officer.
The picturesque village in the Valleys is just under a half hour commutable from Swansea and Neath.
The role
Working within the village, you will strengthen the community by planning and implementing a range of sporting, recreational, cultural and environmental projects and events.
The Community Development Officer will also assist in the future sustainability of the Reading room library and Hendy Cricket Club/Community Centre.
As our community development officer you will be expected to work towards these aims:
- Improving health, well-being and road safety
- Maintaining and improve the quality of the local environment
- Providing and improve sports and recreation facilities
- Improving communication within the community
- Preserving the character and heritage of our community
What you need
- Confidence to communicate with a wide variety of different people
- Degree or HND in a related subject or experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of the Llanedi community and a passion for maintaining it
Work hours: 30 – flexible to include evenings and occasional weekends.
