Our client, a leading local award winning employer, is looking for a Warehouse Manager. The role holder is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse; to maintain and improve performance levels both in terms of service and financial control. This is to be achieved through prudent control of resources, application of best practice, maintenance of a safe working environment for all persons on site, and a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Manage the activities of the warehouse team, providing leadership, engagement and motivation
* The efficient and timely deployment of resources to match service levels within an agreed budget.
* To manage Health and Safety within the warehouse
* Ensure the team KPIs are achieved - pallet movements per hour, stock accuracy, deployment and utilisation of stock, hygiene, stock segregation, pallet flow and traceability
* Responsibility for the management of the sites handling equipment (Trucks etc.)
* Responsible for waste removal from the site e.g. Cardboard, plastic, pallets
* Responsible for consumable stock and pallet equipment e.g. QPs
* Review warehouse team competency and ensure appropriate training (SOPs) and development plans are set and implemented to meet both the individual and the business needs.
* Manage customer stocktakes on site as required
* Liaise with customer and attend customer interface meetings
* Responsibility for the management of stock on customer stock systems e.g. SAP for inbound and outbound and customer in and out bound controls
Skills & Competencies:
* An ability to operate in a range of situations from the shop floor to client reviews
* An understanding of engagement and motivational tools and techniques
* Have an understanding of the key cost drivers within a business and how to affect them
* Has the ability to work with a site management team in order to achieve wider business goals that may be detrimental to the warehouse department
Knowledge Experience and Specific Job Skills
* Minimum 5 years warehousing experience
* Customer stock and systems experience
* IOSH
* People management & coaching
* Financial / Budgetary awareness
* Customer Focus and relationship building
