Our client is an established, family-run business that supplies a wide range of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. As a result of their ongoing growth, they are now looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team in Gloucester for a maternity cover contract lasting from six – twelve months.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will work as part of a small team to complete a range of finance and accounting objectives aimed at ensuring and safeguarding the company’s financial health. 

On a day-to-day basis, you will function inter-departmentally to produce monthly management accounts, analyse the variance of actual verses forecast and report and communicate proactively and effectively with management. 

Getting involved in continuous improvement projects for systems and processes, you will review procedures and processes, complete tax activities and work on payroll-related projects and the pension scheme. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Make PSA compliance submissions/payments 
- Support annual audit activities 
- Prepare budgets and forecasts 
- Complete intercompany reconciliations 
- Support administration surrounding trademarks 
- Process ledger and petty cash transactions as required 
- Create business continuity plans 

To be considered, you will need: 

- Accounting and/or bookkeeping experience 
- Strong experience with Excel 
- A good working knowledge of accountancy software and VAT 

Highly organised and communicative, as an Assistant Management Accountant, you will need to be self-motivated, able to work well under pressure and solve problems at a high level. A close attention to detail and a focus upon admin will also be vital.
