Administrative Assistant (Part Time)

Contract is 6 months initially with potential to extend

Brook Street is currently working on behalf of our Global IT Client to recruit an Part Time Administrative Assistant. This is a contract role based in Reading for 6 months initially, with a review to extend for full 18 months.

As a Brook Street contractor you will be entitled to 25 days holiday per annum, 8 days paid Bank Holidays pro rota, discounted gym membership, use of the onsite health facility, access to online learning and training, free parking and an excellent subsidised restaurant.

Salary: £18,690 per annum, plus 5% end of contract bonus, plus benefits.
This role is working 25 hours a week (M to F, 9:30am - 2:30pm)

Job Description
Team/Department Mission
Would you like to work in one of the most exciting, dynamic and challenging parts of business today? The UK Public Sector team is responsible for all of our relationships with government, from education and health, to government and police.

Role Purpose
To provide effective administrative Support for Public Sector. Be the go to person for all queries relating to Expenses and compliance. There would also be an element of event support.

Responsibilities
A typical day in this role can include:
" Manage the Rhythm of Business Public Sector Calendar
" Manage expense checking process for all of Public Sector, ensuring they are accurate and compliant.
" Manage all PO requests, and subsequent activities (maintenance, extensions, invoices, closing)
" Order kit for new starters
" Maintain up to date group information e. organisation charts, team info, etc.
" Regularly update distribution groups/aliases through our internal database
" Assist with Co-ordinate team off-sites in external/internal locations.
" Provide ad hoc administrative support to the wider team.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
o Enables Public Sector to work as efficiently and effectively as possible.
o Presents a professional image both internally and externally at all times.
o Strong communication and time management skills.
o Uses initiative appropriate to position and demonstrates a high degree of pro-activity.
o Extremely well organised, excellent planning and prioritising ability
o Able to cope with and manage multiple demands, working under time pressured deadlines
o Able to respond with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
" Minimum of 5 GCSE`s or equivalent - including Maths and English preferred.
" Strong positive and professional image.
" Demonstrate ownership and follow through on all responsibilities.
" Self-starter/works on own initiative, applying diplomacy, tact and patience.
" Desire and willingness to learn.
" Team Player.
" Effective communication skills - both verbal and written.
" Intermediate IT skills - Training on all Office packages can be provided
" Good attention to detail.
" Able to work flexible hours if required.
