The Post Merger Integration (PMI) Practice Area is one of BCG’s largest topics & fastest growing Practices. It has grown 20% CAGR in the past five years & the team has expanded rapidly. PMI interfaces closely with the Industry & Functional PAs & have an important mandate with respect to content development, go-to-market, team building & marketing.

Role Summary

We are seeking a strong candidate to fill a Knowledge Analyst role within the BCG PMI Knowledge Team. In this role, you will work closely with PMI Knowledge Team members to provide consultants with analysis, tools, materials & expert contacts, thereby assisting consultants with invaluable insight into specific client issues.

As a Knowledge Analyst, you will provide know-how about the Post Merger Integration to Regional, European & Global teams. You will act as an expert & perform complex research & analysis for case & project teams, managing complex proprietary benchmarks & tools. Furthermore, your tasks will include participating in & managing complex analysis projects under the guidance of senior PMI consulting & KT staff.

  • Work with case teams on expert research & delivers original analysis & insights
  • Provide thought partnership & expert source know-how to case & topic/sector teams
  • Share topic/sector insights & points of view more broadly within the firm
  • Gain expertise by conducting interviews at the end of a case
  • Contribute to BCG's growing knowledge base
  • Learn the business & build expertise

Position responsibilities

Work with case (and proposal) teams

  • Partners with case teams to identify & address critical knowledge needs
  • Provides customised knowledge for client work, prepares accurate, well developed materials
  • Delivers original analysis & insights to case team
  • Supports development of proposal/selling documents
  • With guidance from senior PMI Knowledge Team, identifies right expert & connects him/her with requestor
  • Liaises with DRS to ensure that requests for expertise are addressed by KT & appropriate research is delivered
  • With consultants, collects, synthesises, analyses case team learning & inputs into new knowledge products (vignettes, experience)

Work with PMI Practice Area leaders & Experts

  • Monitor M&A deal flow & alert the team for actions
  • Identifies gaps in PMI knowledge & develop new PMI-knowledge products
  • Support development of Training & e-learning modules
  • Contributes to development of new proprietary databases & tools
  • Contributes to PA intellectual capital development projects
  • Contributes to content development for PA meetings & trainings
  • Regularly reviews knowledge products & ensures they are updated

Work with Knowledge teams of other Industry & Functional PAs

  • Collaborate with industry, sector & functional Knowledge teams to supply most relevant knowledge to consulting teams
  • Coordinate & contributes to development of industry specific PMI knowledge products

Job requirements

Education & experience

  • 2+ years of work experience relevant to mergers & acquisitions and research – mandatory
  • Master’s degree in Finance or Economics - mandatory
  • Relevant experience working in a matrixed environment within a global professional services firm - mandatory
