Position: Machine Operative
Location: Halifax
Duration: Temporary (Long term - possibility of Permanent)
Shift: Weekly rotating shift pattern 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 / 22:00 - 06:00
Salary: GBP10.25 per hour
Job Overview:
Our client based in Halifax is an international engineering manufacturer. Due to expansion and existing growth plans we have an immediate requirement for a number of production operatives.
In order to apply, applicants will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience of carrying out production and manufacturing work.
The primary focus of the position is to work as part of a team, operating plant machinery and equipment to manufacture our client's products.
Ensuring optimum performance of machinery and equipment within the confines of Health and Safety and Environment and Quality.
Adherence to all standards, procedures and work instructions
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Operating of machine and equipment
* Ensure that all deviations from standards and reported to line manager
* Report any breakdowns to line manager
* Carry out total productive maintenance (TPM) tasks according to all standards
* Attend and participate in improvement activities
* Carry out basic maintenance work, plant cleaning and tool changing as required
* Packing
* Play an active part in the development and optimisation of standards
* Support process confirmation
* Maintain and improve 5s in all areas of work
Skill and Qualifications Required:
* Proven experience gained within a manufacturing environment
* Team player
* Excellent communication skills
* Able to work on own initiative
* Computer literate
* Able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility and willingness to adapt to change
