We are currently looking for an experienced Vehicle Maintenance Specialist for a contract role based in Surrey. Due to the requirements for security clearance with this role applicants must have at least 3 years unbroken UK residency status. This is also only initially a 3 month contract role however, subject to success, further 1 year contracts may be offered to follow the project to site in Somalia, East Africa. The current terms for the role will apply towork in Surrey only.
Vehicle Maintenance Specialist required by client to work for its highly successful government services division based in their campus style offices in Surrey on a short-term contract basis.
For the provision of pre-planned and reactive vehicle maintenance, and spare parts provision for 750 - 1000 vehicles and a small element of marine equipment in Mogadishu, Somalia. The majority of maintenance will take place in Mogadishu with 7 small out stations, all within the UN perimeter.
The successful applicant will take a leading role in developing the client's technical, written response to the ITT. Potentially the applicant may be considered moving forward, if desired, for the role of In Country Project Manager for the contract, based in Mogadishu. The contract will be for 3 years with 1+1 option years.
Candidates should have the following Qualifications and Experience;
• A strong understanding of Vehicle Maintenance, with a minimum of 5 years of Vehicle Maintenance experience, preferably within challenging, austere and remote environments.
• Written ability to respond to a technical requirement.
• Must have worked within an ISO 9000 compliant environment.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
• A self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience in working in arduous / austere conditions.
• Experience in supply chain logistics.
• Minimum City and Guilds /BTEC Motor Vehicles
