We are looking for organisational transformation and change professionals who are at the top of their game, passionate about developing modern, business-focused solutions, and who are not afraid to innovate and try something new. The challenge we have at Essex County Council is massive, the opportunity is even bigger. This is your chance to bring new and modern ways of doing things to one of the biggest county councils in the country, where you will be encouraged to share your ideas, experience and be at the heart of creating and delivering best fit solutions.
If the idea of being part of a team which is making a real difference to public service, and to the lives of the residents of Essex, appeals to you - then this is the place for you. You may currently be working in local government, the wider public sector or in the private sector but looking to showcase your skills on a larger stage and focused on business performance which has a real impact on people's lives.

The opportunity
As a Senior Business Design & Change Consultant within the Organisational Effectiveness team, you will be responsible for your own unique and complex portfolio of design and analysis work. Supporting a range of organisational functions, you will shape business improvement activity in these areas and lead multiple transformational change projects. You will work collaboratively across the Organisation Development & People function more broadly, sharing a clear view of strategic needs, capabilities and processes of the business to support team activities, objectives and help with strategic decision-making.
This is a key role with a lot of variety and challenge, with the team working across every area of the Council to improve the way that the organisation works and is designed. You will need to be committed, but if you are willing to go above and beyond, there's the potential to take on more responsibility should you want it.

About you
Educated to either degree level or with equivalent experience, you will be certified as Lean Six Sigma practitioner to Green Belt level and continuing to build on your expertise. You have a deep understanding of and experience in managing and delivering business process re-engineering, organisational redesign, and change programmes. You ask questions, do your research and look at things from every angle, acting as a true internal consultant. That means you have excellent communication and influencing skills, and are able to build and develop relationships across the business and at different levels.
