Associate Editor x 3 - Biomedical OA Journals

Our client, a leading and growing not-for-profit STM Open Access journal publisher, is expanding and looking for three Associate Editors to join its multidisciplinary OA Journals team. This role can be based in Cambridge (UK) or San Francisco (USA).
Reporting to the Senior Editor and team leader, the Associate Editor will work with other editors to oversee the editorial process from submissions to publication. This is a busy role where the main responsibilities include:

• Assessing new submissions and guiding manuscripts through the review process
• Overseeing editorial decisions
• Providing support to external Academic Editors
• Contributing to the development of editorial policies and processes
• Representing the OA Journals at scientific meetings.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a scientific research environment and a strong familiarity with scholarly literature. You will have excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills, able to adapt to a fast-paced innovative environment. Candidates with a PhD qualification or research experience in epidemiology, public health, clinical or biomedical is desirable but other scientific disciplines are welcome. This role will suit someone looking to move from research into OA publishing or seeking to advance their editorial experience. Expertise in research involving human subjects or human samples/data is advantageous.
