Sidney Sussex College is seeking to recruit a full time permanent PURCHASE LEDGER OFFICER to work in the College Office with the finance team.  This position is responsible for the operation and management of the Purchase Ledger, Company Barclaycard and Petty Cash, together with control and internal and external reporting of utility costs.

Working 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility necessary, the salary for this post is paid at points 30 - 36 on the University’s single pay spine, currently equating to £23,334 - £27,830 per annum.  Incremental progression through the range is discretionary.  With 25 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays, this post is pensionable under the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme.  Other benefits include free lunches when on duty and subsidised membership of the College’s gym facilities.

The Purchase Ledger is a core element of the College’s managements and financial accounting systems and it is essential that it is kept up to date and well managed. The College currently uses Sage 200 accounting system, Microsoft Excel for various databases and work sheets. External utility reporting requires the use of the OIS Systems Link database. Training will be given, but prior experience in the effective operation of these systems is advantageous.
