About Us

Manheim is the world’s largest automotive services company and, through its unparalleled range of products and services, drives every stage of the used vehicle lifecycle. A subsidiary of Atlanta based Cox Enterprises, one of the world’s leading media companies and providers of automotive services, Manheim handles nearly 10 million used vehicles worldwide, facilitating transactions representing more than $50 billion in value. In the UK, we provide a national physical and on-line auction network, comprising 18 centres.

We also provide vehicle inspection, repair, reconditioning and pre-sale preparation; transport; logistics; full de-fleet management and outsourced end-of-contract administration. In addition, Manheim is the UK’s leading automotive digital marketing specialist providing retail marketing and specialist web marketing support to more than 85% of the Top 200 UK dealer groups.

About the Role

As Relief Transport Driver, you will ensure the efficient and timely collection and delivery of vehicles to and from Manheim sites, adhering to Manheim procedures, legislation and regulations and providing customer service excellence at all times.

You will be responsible for the effective load planning and safe loading/unloading of vehicles and for the successful completion of all vehicle checks. You must adhere to all tachograph regulations, inform the Transport department of any vehicle accidents or damages and work within all HSE legislation and regulations.

When not required to relief drive, you will be required to support work in a busy transport yard and work as a Driver’s mate as necessary. This role will require the successful candidate to cover holidays and absence of existing drivers in non-HGV, Class 2 and Class 1 transporters, so relevant licences are preferable. Travel will also be required to other Manheim sites where cover is required. A premium day rate is paid to the individual, based on the class of vehicle being driven.

About You

We’re looking for an individual who has previous experience of driving similar vehicles and who has a full understanding of tachograph regulations. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have experience of a customer facing role and be able to deal with customer complaints, defusing difficult situations in a calm and effective manner. You’ll need to be able to work well as part of a team and on own initiative and be flexible with the ability to adapt to change quickly.
