Actual salary c £27k dependent on experience and qualifications. This is negotiable for an exceptional candidate. 36 hours school days 8.30am - 4.15pm

Bensham Manor is a secondary school for pupils with learning difficulties. Based in North West Croydon well served by public transport. We seek to appoint an organized and highly motivated Family Support and Transition Worker to join this oversubscribed successful special secondary school.  Your role will be to support families whose children are experiencing difficulties to help them participate fully in school activities and support their transition to college. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with the school's multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies, as appropriate, in addition to making home visits. 

Key Skills: 

  • Caring and confident with experience of working with children and families 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and ICT skills  
  • The ability to remain calm, mediate and problem solve
