Our client is an innovative provider of housing and community services, formed in April 2015 from a historic merger between two of Manchester’s largest housing associations. In the subsequent two years the Group has achieved its initial merger aspirations and is now extending and expanding (doubling) its new homes programme across a range of tenures and locations. It currently owns and manages more than 12,000 homes in central, south and east Manchester.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety practitioner to provide professional and practical support to ensure compliance with legislation and statutory obligations are met which will include the management and control of asbestos. You will support the Group Health and Safety Manager and directly line manage an Asbestos Surveyor in the delivery of a high quality services. 

Applicants must have:

  • A NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ level 5 in Health & Safety (or working towards)
  • P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings Certificate
  • A sound knowledge of Health and safety legislation, statutory obligations and best practice including auditing, asbestos management systems and legionella awareness
  • Good IT /organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence 
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle
