A national logistics company is looking to recruit Trunking Co-ordinators to work within their friendly and supportive warehouse team in a multi customer chilled environment, handling goods from intake through to dispatch in a safe and accurate manner, providing an efficient and reliable service to the customer.

They are offering a competitive hourly rate plus 5% overtime rate, plus unsocial hour’s premium of £1ph extra. We are looking for hard working and dedicated people to join this friendly team.

The Role:

The successful candidates will play a critical role in the success of the trunking shift.  This includes ensuring that everything arrives onto site, deciding where in the warehouse it should be unloaded, liaising with transport and drivers to ensure trailers are on bays, and coordinating warehouse operatives to load accurately and on time.

We are looking for 2 people to work on a 4 on, 4 off basis one day shift and one night shift.

Key priorities of the role:
  • Understand the daily trunking plans (intake and outload) and use them to ensure all product is received and loaded correctly, on time
  • Communicate with the team of loaders, prioritising late runners, or sensitive product
  • Liaise with the transport department/drivers to ensure the correct trailers are on bays
  • Keep records of departure and arrival times of product into the warehouse
  • Escalate issues to a Team Manager where applicable
  • Load and unload product using a PPT, with your team where appropriate
  • Speak to the planning team on the telephone to inform them of changes or problems with the plans
  • Decide where product should be unloaded in the warehouse to improve efficiency and space utilisation
No experience is required as excellent training provided from day 1

The ability to communicate well with those around you
  • Be able to work well within a team 
  • Excellent communication skills – Through phone, email and in person communicating any changes or problems encountered
  • Leadership skills – the candidate must be able to effectively give instructions to their colleagues and work collaboratively to get the job done
  • Organisational skills – this employee must stick to the plans and understand the importance of loads leaving on time
A broad understanding of the trunking shift would be useful but not essential.

The Package:

  • Guaranteed 40.25 hours a week
  • Salary of £9.20 per hour
