Durham County Council is looking for a qualified Engineer - Capital Programme, to work within the busy, high performing Highways Assets and Highways Services Teams.

In this role you’ll be responsible for undertaking the workload involved in the Highway Assets team within the Strategic Highways Group.

 

Person specification

  • HNC in Civil Engineering, required
  • Experience of working in a highways or asset related environment.
  • Valid driving licence
  • Desirable: Incorporated Engineer Status or working towards Incorporated Status, degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), recognised management qualification
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex technical problems, communicate effectively, and apply sound engineering principles to practical solutions

 

Capital Programme Engineer duties

  • Assessment and prioritisation of the capital works programme.
  • Managing the inspection of section 38 development sites
  • Develop a forward plan for the delivery of the highway maintenance programme
